DVD doesn't play
I'm using a PC
I'm using a DVD player

DVD doesn't play - I'm using a PC
- Make you have a DVD drive and are putting the DVD in the DVD drive.
The DVD logo is normally printed on it.
If it only says "Compact Disc" you may be putting in a CD drive. CD drives won't play DVDs unless they are multidrives (CD and DVD).
- Check the bottom side (Shiny and purple) is clean and unscratched. If it is dirty, use a soft clean cloth and CD cleaning fluid (or just use it dry). Put it back in the case upside down (Shiny purple side up) and wipe from the centre to the edge and work around the disc.
- You need to have DVD playing software installed. Such as PowerDVD or WinDVD. Windows media player 'can' play DVDs with the right settings and drivers installed but is not recommended (As it's not very good at playing DVDs). To buy DVD playing software check out ebuyer as you can pick up PowerDVD for under a fiver.
- Check that other DVDs can play on your system. If they do, then try the DVD on a normal DVD player to clarify it's the disc that's not working. If it still doesn't work then contact the store that sold it and request a replacement.

- If both discs don't work, then try them on a different player (preferabley a PC). If they don't work on another system then contact the store that sold it and request a replacement. . If they do work on another system, your DVD player may not play duplicated discs.

- If you are playing "Play Paws" on a XBox, PS2 or some other DVD playing system, you need to make sure it can play duplicated discs (Purple and shiny). But normally a useful error message will appear, if you have any trouble sort this out email the message to support@playpaws.co.uk.

DVD does play but it doesn't show properly on screen - I'm using a TV
- Make sure the DVD player is plugged in to the TV and the TV is on the right channel.
- If blocks and jitters appear, this could be the DVD player not reading the disc correctly. Try cleaning the DVD. If it still persists try a different DVD player on your TV.

DVD does play but it doesn't show properly on screen - I'm using a Projector
- Make sure the DVD system and the projector are connected and the projector is on (Noramlly on Composite/Video or S-Video setting). If you are using a PC setting projector is normally RGB.
- If you use a PC with 2 screen outputs and it plays fine on one and not on the other. Try switching primary and secondary outputs (in Control Panel, Display)
- If you are using a PC, some graphics cards have fancy options for playing on 2 screens.
To enable/disable video mirroring for Nvidia cards, go to Display Properties
-> Advanced -> <Your Nvidia card> -> Overlay Controls and disable fullscreen video mirroring. Matrox calls this feature PureVideo/DVDMax.

- The options turn green when they are selected, if it is red, yellow or blue it's not likely that it's selected.
- Using the up, down, left or right arrows for most DDV playing software will change the highlighted option. Enter is the usual button for starting the chosen option option.
- Clicking on the coloured option with the mouse cursor w ill normally start that option.

Having trouble selecting a game - I'm using a DVD player
- The options turn green when they are selected, if it is red, yellow or blue it's not likely that it's selected.
- Most DVDs don't have selection arrows on the player but use the remote. This needs to be pointed at the player not the screen.
The up, down, left and right arrows will select the options. The Play or Enter button should start the selected option. But be careful there can be upto a 3 second pause before the option starts (depending on DVD player brand).

I don't know how to get back to the different menus
- At any point pressing the ROOT or TITLE button on a DVD remote will return to the main menu.
- During the pause in the game (before the answer can be revealed) chosing the GAME MENU button will return you to the menu where you can chose a different game variation.
- At the end of the game MAIN MENU is slected, but you can chose GAME MENU to play a different variation of the same game.
- On the GAME MENU screen you can select the top option of MAIN MENU to go to the main menu. (Getting it yet?)
